Starting from the book “Fahrenheit 451“ by the American author Ray Bradbury, this film was made. It gives a highlighting view into the book‘s topic and could be seen as an intro for a film adaptation or could be used as accompanying material for the book.
The story takes place in a dystopian future where reading or the possession of books is strictly prohibited. The government destroys all books by instructing the firemen to burn the confiscated books.
Like before in “Point No Point“, sprayed stencil-graphics are used again. This time solely handmade graphics were used, this gives the film a higher authenticity. Also the movement of the protagonist the salamander was created with spray cans in different motion sequences. This also makes the salamander more lively and inter-esting.
The salamander is moving on a tabletop on which many different objects are seen which have a special meaning for the book‘s story.
Because of the Nazi‘s burning of books, this film’s topic is a difficult issue. Therefore this film should be seen rather as an impulse to deal further with this topic.
